{Girls Night}

I had purchased Kenny Chesney tickets a few months ago and planned on Dave and the boys going with me but Dave decided the sand dunes with the boys would be more fun so of course I called a couple of the girls to go with me!!
It was Harmony's birthday so I gave her a ticket, and Midge and Madge are always up for a good time! Just read the bathroom walls! HA HA. Just Kidding!
We went and ate dinner and then headed to the concert. I was so sad that Sugarland cancelled because her voice wasn't doing well!
It was so dang hot and thank goodness the seats were in the shade
We had a blast talking, laughing, dancing and people watching!

{funeral & 2 birthday celebrations}

On July 7th I went to my uncle's funeral. My mom's only brother. He had been battling cancer for about 5 years....a lung disease finally took him. He passed away the exact same way my mom did...in the hospital, on a respirator with his family by his side. I'm sure it was a wonderful reunion in heaven. Call me crazy but for a split second I was jealous that he was with my mom.

After the funeral we were invited to the most amazing house for my Aunt Marcia's birthday party. This house is in the mountains of Provo Canyon over looking Deer Creek. For a few hours I felt like I was in another world. The owner let us tour the house and take pictures. This is her view from upstairs.
It was also my sister's birthday and she was in town. This is a picture of me, my sister and my sister-inlaws. It was a great day.

{4th of July}

This picture pretty much sums up our 4th of July.

We bummed around that afternoon, took the kids minature golfing and then headed up to my brother's house in Midway to watch the fireworks.

We sat around the fire, roasted marshmellows, talked and then watched the fireworks on top of Memorial Hill...perfect view! It was really nice. I decided Midway is such a wonderful place to visit and I love it so much, but that's all it has ever been and will be for me, a place to visit. I don't miss living up there at all.

{Silly Park City}

On Sunday we were invited to go to Park City with my brother Kent. It is a farmers market/vendors....also called "Silly Park City" for the kids. They had crafts, and face painting.

This vendor makes see saws...they were huge! He was letting the kids ride on it.

Face painting ended up as tattoo's on my kids. They had dragons and my sweet nephew got a snake on his face.

Then we went to Loco Lizard for Dinner...YUM!
It was a really fun day! Thanks Kent and Janie for inviting us. We need to go up again when Dave can go.

{OPP}

My monthly scrapbooking with the girls is something that I look forward to every month. June was my month and it was Jamie's birthday so we did a construction theme.

Malinda made the hats with our "construction" names on them. I bought home depot aprons and filled them full of stuff, and Mindi brought everyone orange vests.

Mindi also came all decked out with a mustache, fake cig, and a pack of cards rolled up in her sleeve. We laughed so hard

Of course Edward had to make an appearance

This is the group...we look pretty tough don't we?? Don't mess with us! ha ha

Mandee and I workin hard for our money!
July was at Malinda's house. We had a luau theme for Lisa and Stephanie's birthday. Malinda always put together a great party.

I'm sure I have said this a million times but I love these girls!! We laugh until we pee our pants. I consider these get togethers also free therapy. I have been evaluating my life the last little while and wanting to make sure the people in my life are uplifting, and who I can trust with anything.....these 7 girls make up a big part of that list and I am so honored to know each one of them.

{Father's Day}

Well it's about time I blog about Father's Day! I seriously can't find enough hours in the day to do anything latley.

We were invited by some good friends Jeff and Tara to go to St Anthony. Idaho's version of Sand Dunes. OH MY GOSH. Awesome! Way different experience than at our local sand dunes.

We left Wednesday morning and stayed through Sunday afternoon.
This place has a.....well they call it a lake, I would call it a big body of water. Great fun potential if it wouldn't have rained 4 out of the 5 days we were there! Friday was beautiful and we spent the entire day at the lake. The kids built a river and small ponds for the TONS of tadpols they caught. Some smarty pants in our group brought a ski rope and a knee board. Of course Dave had to show off his skillz! He wrecked once and slammed his tail bone in 2 inches of water. I try and tell him he isn't young anymore and he needs to chill out! ha ha. But he won't give up being active, I have to admit, he still has game! Garrett even took a MILLION turns! McKay would have nothing to do with it. It blows my mind how different my kids are. McKay is a dare devil as long as he is in control...so riding bikes, 4 wheelers, skateboards etc he does amazing. Garrett....doesn't really put any thought into something and just goes for it but it also takes Garrett longer to perfect something so he gives up and gets frustraited easily.

McKay has been begging for a bigger 4 wheeler for a long time. Dave found a great deal on one and decided to buy it. So now the boys have their own and they are in HEAVEN! McKay jumped on this 4 wheeler with only a few lessons of a clutch and started driving like a pro! He loves SPEED!

This was our home away from home. Great camp spots!
McKay and Brody modeling their twinner outfits! They both LOVE the sand dunes and the sound of their engines. ha ha
Tara and I found these shirts at the store one day and had to buy them to wear when we are camping.
The adults took quite a few trips out on the rails and I loved every minute of it! Jeff has an amazing machine. We drive for a while and then stop to take a break. These girls are so fun to be with and keep me laughing! The rest of the time was spent bundling up and dodging rain storms. It didn't stop us from having a great time!
This is McKay jumping his 4 wheeler. Yikes!
Garrett getting air too!

Dave joining in on the fun
Garrett and Braden getting ready to head out for a ride
And last but not least the amazing rail that we are so lucky to be able to enjoy. This is at a place called choke cherry. It is a VERY steep hill. As you can tell from my scream at the end I wasn't expecting him to disapear out of my sight, Jeff landed it like a pro.

{TV Legend, Fashion Icon and Music Legend}

We lost 3 amazing people this week in the Entertainment world

Ed McMahon
June 23rd
Was ill with Cancer and other mulitple health issues *His single most significant and enduring achievement will remain his introductory Tonight Show catchphrase, "Heeeeere's Johnny!"
*Star Search host that I watched religously every Sunday

*Clearing House sweepstakes spokesman

Farrah Fawcett
June 25
Died of Cancer*Her swimsuit poster launched a thousand male fantasies.

*Her feathered locks made curling irons de rigueur for women and kick-started the most pervasive hair trend of the '70s.

*She was an "Angel" for the hit 1970's tv show Charlie's Angels

Age 50

This will be a long dragged out event trying to figure out what he died from. First reports were a heart attack, now it is going to perscription medication overdose.

* Started out with the Jackson 5 in the 70's

*Moonwalk and white glove

*Music video "Thriller" lasted 14 minutes

*Hair caught on fire

* Many plastic surgeries until he looked like a freak

*Charged with child molesting

He was an amazing performer. Towards the end of his life he seemed very sad and lost. I'm sure he is in a happier place now.
